Welcome to the Magical
Ogongo Waterfall Campsite
A Place of Magic
Ongongo, meaning “magical” in Herero, truly lives up to its name. Nestled in a remote canyon in northwest Namibia, this stunning spot features warm, relatively warm water year-round. Located 6 km from Warmquelle and about 25 km south of Sesfontein, it’s roughly 90 km north of Palmwag on the C43. The closest fuel stations are in Sesfontein and Palmwag.

Amazing place. Quiet, sounds of the waterfall making for a very pleasant night sleep. Ablutions good and clean. Difficult path to get there, requires 4x4.

Really well designed and set up campsite. Incredible staff who are kind and helpful. Beautiful location, highly recommend doing a hike up the river bed. Lots of wild life, hammerhead birds, terrapins and the like!

Pristine waterfall, natural pool and stream. Perfect for swimming; even in June. Stayed at campsite one; closest to the waterfall. It was well protected from wind.

It's not a nice road to get to this camp site, but we'll worth it. They have great amenities for washing up, private bathrooms, and a nice clean spot to camp. The rock pool and waterfall are absolutely beautiful, it was one of my best camping experiences in Namibia. Just don't forget your own toilet paper.

Awesome little campsite next to a beautiful spring. Pack a lunch and head for a hike north of the campsite up the river bed.

After following a real Namibian trail for a few kilometers we came across great campsites and a beautiful oasis. Spent the entire day swimming and exploring the area. Staff fires up the donkey in the mornings and evenings which is awesome. Will definitely be returning!

This was definitely my favorite campsite in the whole trip. Simply magical. To sleep listening to the sound of the river and frogs. To reach a private magical natural pool just next to your camping ground. It was just us at the pool, amazing. The campsite is also very high quality with private bathrooms and sinks and lightning.
